Pledges
Health
I am passionate about protecting and improving our health services. I will campaign
to keep health services truly local and to promote Withybush and Glangwili as vital for our community.
Schools
There are many good schools where the staff, parents, governors and children
take pride in achieving high standards. We will invest a further £22 million to build on this success and to tackle the areas
where children are leaving without basic skills.
The Rural Community
TB spreading. Milk at an all time low. Farmers in poverty. Rural schools, shops,
businesses and Post Offices closing. It's a terrible situation and I am determined to find ways to implement the solution
to TB, to lobby the supermarkets for a fairer deal and to improve life for our rural population
The Economy
We will reinstate the Post Office Development Fund and the Business Rate Relief,
including self-catering. I will encourage the development of a stronger local manufacturing base and the relocation of businesses
to provide a much-needed boost to the local economy.
Pensioners
I support the Conservative initiative to give £100 to every household with a
resident pensioner and I will seek ways to mitigate the damage done to the value of pensions by Labour.
